When I first attended Refuge in 2001, I noticed almost immediately how much this church loved Missions. It wasn’t long before I was helping with short mission trips to Mexico with the High School group. I first took Get Up and Go in 2003, and fell in love with missions even more. We witnessed short-term terms begin to spread out, eventually reaching out to Europe, Africa, South America, Asia, Australia, and the Pacific. Long-term missions grew as well, and we currently support 25 missionaries and ministries around the world.

After serving in Nairobi, Kenya, for over seven years, my family returned to Refuge, and have been serving in missions at the church since 2018. Our desire is to see our long-term missionaries supported spiritually, emotionally, physically and relationally, and to train up and send out effective short term mission teams to support long-term mission projects and churches around the globe.

Over the last 22 years, Get Up and Go has trained up members of Refuge and surrounding churches to be better-equipped missionaries. The goal of this class to send out well-trained missionaries that will be able to support long-term missionaries and local churches around the world. I am excited that you have joined us this year. We have such an amazing lineup of pastors and teachers, with decades of missions experience.

My prayer is that you have your hearts pulled more in the area of missions and that you find your role in fulfilling the Great Commission.
God Bless!
